Sandy in her Early Days in Austin

Entries on AustinTex.com include Austin web site and Austin map links and the website pages are designed to be as much like a book experience as possible so that, even if you think you already know Austin, as you scroll through different topics you will discover places, restaurants, activities and community resources that you had never known about or considered before.

If you are a visitor to Austin or thinking about Austin travel, AustinTex.com hopes to offer a easy to navigate overview of what Austin, Texas has to offer for Austin family vacations, conference attendees and Austin business travelers.

Sandy says, “Even though I thought I knew a lot about Austin after living here and being part of the community for almost thirty years, half the fun of working on the website has been finding out about places that were new to me. Sandy is particulary proud of the “Free Stuff Austin” and “Austin Community Resources” pages on the website.

A third generation Texan, Sandy grew up in Houston, Texas but says her only goal in high school was to move to Austin, which at that time in the mid-seventies was an oasis of cosmic cowboys and the Armadillo World Headquarters music scene. She attended the University of Texas for several years and went on to own several businesses and raise two sons in Austin.
